    The Studio

Spaces that hold their heads a little higher.

Gooseneck Studios is an architecture and interior design practice. Our work ranges from the first massing study of a commercial building to the last detail of a director's cabin.

Every project starts with careful study of the site, or of how a team actually works through its day. That turns into clear options the client can compare side by side, and then into spaces with warm materials, plenty of planting and light that changes through the day.

Where a project was developed as several design options, each option is shown separately. Projects made with partner practices are credited on each project.

      Founder, Thidam Works LLP

Chidambaram N is an architect and the founder of Thidam Works LLP, a design practice focused on crafting thoughtful residential and commercial spaces. His work is driven by a sensitivity to context, materiality, and spatial experience, with an emphasis on creating environments that are both functional and deeply engaging.

He completed his Bachelor of Architecture at the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University (2014–2019), where he developed a strong academic foundation in architectural design and planning. He further pursued advanced architectural training at YACademy, specializing in Architecture for Extreme Landscapes, which expanded his understanding of building in challenging and diverse environments.

Chidambaram gained professional experience working with leading practices such as Mayapraxis in Bangalore and Sameep Padora & Associates in Mumbai between 2019 and 2023. During this time, he contributed to a range of significant projects, including a five-star hotel in Bahrain, a cultural and arts center for JSW in Hampi, and high-end private residences for the Jindal family. These experiences allowed him to engage with projects across scales and typologies, developing a nuanced and detail-oriented design approach.

At Thidam Works LLP, he leads the studio with a focus on delivering refined, contextually responsive architecture. His practice is grounded in a balance of design clarity, technical understanding, and a commitment to creating meaningful built environments.

He completed his Bachelor of Architecture from Measi Academy of Architecture, Chennai (2008–2013), and pursued his Master’s degree at TU Delft, The Netherlands (2013–2015), gaining exposure to advanced architectural research, urbanism, and global design approaches.

Following his postgraduate studies, Akshey worked as an Architect at MVRDV from 2015 to 2019, contributing to large-scale, concept-driven projects that emphasized innovation, density, and future-oriented urban strategies.

Since founding AK Architects, he has led a diverse portfolio of projects including Kalaignar Centenary Park, a 14-acre urban park in Chennai, and the Gopalapuram Boxing Stadium, a first-of-its-kind air-conditioned 1,000-seater arena.
